1. what is the purpose of this festival?
The purpose of the "IOU Video Festival" is to present emerging Manitoban filmmakers' cinematic content in the form of group screening as well as an evening of networking and refreshments.
2. WHAT KINDS OF FILMS/VIDEOS CAN I SUBMIT?
Short films, music videos, documentary films, experimental films, animation, digital media etc. If you're not sure if your project fits into any of the categories mentioned above, ask us here.
3. WHAT LENGTH CAN THE SUBMISSIONS BE?
The maximum length for submissions is 30 minutes.
4. is there a cost to submit?
There is no fee to submit a film.
5. will there be awards?
There will be no awards at the IOU Video Festival, just a screening of the chosen films and an hour after party to network, socialize and talk about the films and videos.
6. WHAT IS THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE?
Submissions will open on January 15th, 2018 and close February 15th, 2018.
ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT I CAN SUBMIT?
Yes, you cannot submit films that have previously been screened at IOU Video Festival in the past. This does not apply to films that were not chosen for the 2017 festival. You may re-submit films that did not screen last year.
are there restrictions on who can submit?
-You must be born OR living in Manitoba currently.
-You must be the Director/Creator of the submitted content.
The film can be shot on any format and in any location around the world.
